Mile A Minute

We've been going a mile a minute, it seems.  We've enjoyed a lot of time with family which has been great.

I was able to swing down to the twin cities for a weekend and stayed with my good friend Sharla.  I was able to have breakfast with my other good friend and former neighbor Paige, and had dinner with Sharla and my other good friend Carrie.  I attended a baby shower for my friend Sarah and was able to catch up with Amy and Karyn while I was there as well.  It was great to see everyone and spend time with them!  I also managed to get in a Costco run and a trip to Kohls.  And before I left I squeeked in a quick visit with my folks.  A very productive weekend but busy (I can't believe I didn't get any pictures with my gals - I'll have to do better next time)!

From the twin cities, I drove up to Webb Lake where Scott's parents spend the summer.  My family had gone there for the weekend and we were all staying through the 4th of July.  We had perfect, hot, sunny lake weather the whole time (with only one minor thunderstorm that knocked the power out for an hour or so).  We spent a lot of time on the boat and swimming in the lake.  The kids got to see their cousins, McKenna and Kalie, so they thought it was a perfect week.

We celebrated a Hawaiian day while we were there which was a lot of fun.  Pineapple pancakes with coconut syrup for breakfast and Hawaiian chicken for dinner.  Ken and Cheryl had gone to Hawaii earlier in the year and brought back outfits for all of us so, of course, we had to take a ton of pictures!  It was very fun.

Cate, McKenna, and Clare - beautiful girls!

Cooper and Kalie - so cute!

The 4th found us celebrating in the heat with a parade in the morning, followed by the annual Webb Lake Boat Parade after lunch, and sparkelers in the evening under a beautiful full moon.

When morning came, we said our goodbyes to everyone including Cooper who was going to spend a few days with Grandma and Grandpa.  He had a great time with them.  Four days later we went to get him and gave them Catie for her turn with Grandma and Grandpa.

The next week, my parents came up for a visit and to see our place for the first time.  Scott's parents brought Catie back and we all had dinner at our house and celebrated Scott's birthday on our deck.

My mom and dad, Terry and Ernie.

After my parents left, we loaded up the camper and took off for Bass Lake - our lake property that's about an hour northwest of Grand Rapids.  Dustin and Debbie and the girls came and Scott's parents made the trip up for Saturday.  We worked hard clearing brush.  There's always brush it seems.  It was a hot muggy weekend with a lot of bugs but it was fun.

So now we're home and getting back into a routine.  I was able to sign the kids up for gymnastics to help keep them busy.  We did finally get Dish set up so we can watch some TV.  We've been scouting some lots and are hoping to make a decision soon.  This weekend we'll be heading to Webb Lake again.  Scott's cousins and aunt and uncle will be up for their annual visit so it will be fun to be with all the family.  And the weekend after that we head down to the cities for a camping trip with my MOPs friends - I can't wait!

Enjoy the heat!!
